Prior to the University of Minnesota introducing their Goldy Gopher Bobblehead promotion, a number of the Goldy Gopher Bobbleheads were sold at retail outlets.  Immediately after the U's promotion, the number of retail Goldy Bobbleheads increased dramatically.
